Humanist Café (2022): Getting through life together

We are relaunching the Humanist Cafe on May 2022 with a stronger programme aimed at providing peer support for the non-religious at multiple stages of life.

Guided by facilitators, participants can share their life experience along one of the five themes below, giving and drawing support from fellow participants in the process.

  1. Growing Up (May) — (summary)
  2. Becoming Freethinkers (June) — (summary)
  3. Challenges in Life (July) — (summary)
  4. Finding purpose in life (August) — (summary)
  5. Death and dignity (Sept) — (summary)

There will be one theme per Cafe, and the themes will repeat after a five-month cycle.

At each session, facilitators will also provide community resources that the Humanist Society has gathered. They can take the form of books, contacts, web links and mindfulness techniques.

Together as a community, we provide each other emotional support and a listening ear.

With this new Cafe format, the Peer Support Programme ran by the Humanist Society since 2018 will be merged with the Humanist Cafe for better synergy.
