Working Groups

Our Working Groups each manage an aspect of the Society’s work. All WGs (except the Secretariat) are open to volunteers outside the Exco. Each WG is managed by 1-2 WG Managers, appointed by the Exco.

Alliances WG

The Alliances WG is responsible for building a strong network of interfaith and NGO allies for the Society.

This group needs people who:

  • love participating in discussions
  • can write articles/letters
  • can provide professional opinion

IT and Marketing WG

The IT and Marketing Team manages all IT technicalities and marketing efforts for the Society.

This group needs people who:

  • can understand and fix IT issues
  • love writing articles/letters
  • can do some basic designing

Event Working Groups

Events WGs are ad-hoc, formed as and when HSS is organizing an event. This can include Darwin Day, Lectures, and Field Trips. Here, there are many opportunities to help out in a diverse range of roles.

This group needs people who:

  • Love organising and bringing people together
  • Prefer face to face meetups
  • Prefer hands-on activities

Humanist Cafe WG

The Humanist Cafe WG manages the bi-monthly Humanist Cafe event, provide a conducive space for non-religious individuals in Singapore to share personal stories.

This group needs people who:

  • love facilitating discussions
  • can document stories
  • can manage a simple event

Peer Support WG

The Peer Support WG provide peer support to non-religious individuals. Peer Support Group meets every month. In this group, we share our mental health journeys in a private and safe environment curated by facilitators.

This group needs people who:

  • are interested in psychology and mental health issues
  • can manage a simple event

Community Work

The community work WG manages community work efforts by the Society. We are looking for someone to lead this group.

  • wants to do community work and help people

Palliative Care WG

Palliative Care WG aims to provide support to non-religious caregivers and non-religious people in the final stage of their lives.

This group needs people who:

  • can facilitate discussions
  • are interested in psychology and mental health
  • manage a simple event

Secretariat

The Secretariat is led by the Secretary and Treasurer, collectively managing all membership and administrative work in the Society.

This group is suitable for people who:

  • are organised and merticulous
  • have background in admin regulatory work
  • are former exco members or longtime volunteers
