When Singapore implemented the Circuit Breaker in April, we launched the Humanism At Home programme where we had events held on Skype and Zoom. In total, we had 11 online events, including World Humanist Day and several Skype discussions (Skype Parties). Although Singapore moved to Phase Two on 18 June, we adopted a cautious approach and decided to observe the situation for a while longer before resuming physical events.
After careful deliberation, we will begin Humanism in Phase Two in August. At this stage, we will restart physical events but keep them:
- Small — capped at 5 persons per group
- Socially distanced — requiring people to wear masks and keep 1-metre apart
- Contactless — no handshakes
- Open Air — avoiding malls and dining areas
Each group of five will be led by one representative from our Executive Committee.
Meanwhile, online events will continue in Zoom/Skype. Online events will be indicated as [Online], so that participants can differentiate between online and physical events.
Our first physical event is an East Coast Beach Cleanup on 15 Aug 2020. Click here to find out more.
We will be releasing upcoming events on our website here. We look forward to seeing you, online or in person.
