Singapore’s beaches are home to various wildlife, and critically endangered species like the hawksbill turtle regularly nest at our shores. Recently, monsoon winds have brought huge amounts of trash onto large swathes of Singapore East Coast. Some types of trash, such as plastics, are very harmful to marine life.
On the morning of 15 August, we will be volunteering to clean up East Coast beach. This is part of a new Humanist Society annual initiative called National Day Community Service. where every year in August, we will roll our sleeves and take part in various projects to help the needy and protect the environment. Meeting location and time:
When: 15 Aug 2020, Saturday, 09.30AM
Where: Bedok MRT ticket gates
Due to Covid-19, our event will be contactless. Volunteers will wear masks and practice safe distancing, Hand sanitizers will be available.
