Talk 1: Is the Scientific Method Reliable?

If science is reliable, why do scientists always change their minds? How can we trust science when it has been wrong before so often in the past? Dr. Teja Celhar from A*STAR will address these questions and give us a better understanding of the scientific method as well as its efficacy as a means to acquire knowledge.

Talk 2: Pseudoscience and Fake Science

Dr. Robert Lieu from NUS will discuss the differences between science, pseudoscience and fake science, and how to distinguish between them. He will also talk about the deliberate undermining of public confidence in established sciences and the concerted attempts to discredit scientists and their work.
