The General Household Survey 2025 found that the share of residents with no religious affiliation climbed to 23.9%, up from 20% in 2020. Against that backdrop, this Humanist Cafe offers a safe space for people to share their personal stories about leaving religion.

Why did you leave?
What challenges did you face along the way, and how did you rebuild your life afterward?
Many of us who leave faith go through a deep existential crisis and a period of nihilism. On top of that, the community we once belonged to often brands us as backsliders, black sheep, or traitors.
Yet few people talk about the sudden loss of community, the missing moral compass, and the familiar frameworks that once gave our lives structure.
We’ll explore all of this together in this session of Humanist Cafe.
