Singapore @ Night

Full moon of the Chinese eighth lunar month is celebrated as the Mid-Autumn festival, and on 10 Sept (Wednesday), the full moon will be rising from the east at around 8pm, according to the resident amateur astronomers of HSS.

Far from being just the oriental, poignant counter balance to “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, Mid-Autumn is a more ancient celebration that conjures up ethos for the Chinese literary heritage, bewilderment over the wonders of nature, and pathos between people separated by distance and time.

HSS is proud to organise our first Science and Culture combo event, exploring the moon through photography and our hearts through poetry & fables.
