Annual General Meeting 2020

As we are all familiar with the current seriousness of the COVID-19 situation, it is incumbent on HSS to take the necessary precautions, while still be able to conduct our operations.

Our HSS AGMs are necessary and are generally not crowded events. This year, your participation will also help us take HSS into the next 10 years, with items and officer bearers to vote on. We encourage you to help HSS take the steps towards the next phase.

Temperature checks will be done upon admission to the conference room, and masks can be provided on request (one per participant for use during the session). In the interest of public health and safety, HSS reserves the right to turn away members, with flu-like symptoms, at the door. Members who are feeling unwell, under leave of absence or under quarantine may elect to vote by proxy, in accordance with the Constitution.

Items to vote on :

The ExCo proposes two (2) constitutional changes.

(a) The first is an automatic renewal of annual membership with a grace period of 6 months.

(b) The second is a bold move to create a new category of Associate membership – for those who may not agree with the ‘non-religious’ portion of  HSS’ membership declaration. This category of members will pay the same fees as ordinary members, and enjoy all the benefits and privileges except for voting rights.
