Early next year, the 2012 Global Atheist Convention will be held in Melbourne with some of the world’s best-known speakers on the list.

The “four horsemen of the anti-apocalypse”, God Delusion author Richard Dawkins, best-selling Sam Harris who wrote The End of Faith, Daniel Dennett and provocateur extraordinaire Christopher Hitchens will headline the event, along with many other prominent speakers.

Ticket prices are as follows:
– Gold Pass (better seating): AUS$440 (=SG$555)
– Standard Pass: AUS$310 (=SG$390)
– Concession Pass (for full-time students): AUS$270 (=SG$340)

All the 3 day Convention Passes above include:
– Drinks and canapes on Friday night,
– Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea on Saturday &
– Morning tea and lunch on Sunday.

Tickets will go on sale Thursday 1 September at 9:00am (AEST). You can purchase your tickets from the website (http://www.atheistconvention.org.au/).

You are strongly encouraged to purchase your tickets early. For the 2010 Global Atheist Convention (also held in Melbourne), Gold tickets sold out in a few weeks; standard tickets within 1 month or so.

*Note that you have to purchase the convention tickets on your own accord. There are no group discounts.The Humanist Society (Singapore) plans to arrange for discounted air tickets and lodging (if possible) and for members and guests who are attending the convention a chance to meet up in Melbourne.
