We are glad to inform you that we are bringing you for a breathtaking starry night away from the city lights at Pulau Semakau, the only place in Singapore from which one can see the Milkyway! The Astronomical Society of Singapore (TASOS) has been conducting these exclusive trips and we are proud to be able to join them. The overnight trip will be between 9-10 July from 5pm on Saturday to 9am on Sunday, so draw stars in that two boxes on your calender/planner!

Suggested items to bring:
Sleeping bag (air-con in the admin building may be cold)
Water bottle(s) (there are potable water source on the island for refilling)
Packed food & snacks (purchase before ferry departs)
Instant noodles (cooked at observation site)
Motion sickness medicine (short boat trip of around 40 minutes)
Binoculars (even better if you have a telescope, let us know!!)
Wind breaker & trousers
Tent (let us know if you can bring one!!)

Itinerary
Day 1 (9July’11 Saturday)
3.30 pm : Meet at Queenstown MRT Station to buy packed food and take bus 51
4.30 pm : Meet at Pasir Panjang Ferry Terminal
5.00 pm : Ferry Departs for Semakau Island
5.20 pm : Arrive Semakau Island Admin Building
5.30 pm : Talk and Briefing
6.15 pm : Bus trip to observation site
7.00 pm : Star-gazing begins – free & easy
Day 2 (10July’11 Sunday)
7.00 am : Bus trip back to Admin Building
8.30 am : Depart Semakau Island
9.00 am : Arrive Pasir Panjang Ferry Terminal
