Read for Books is the Singapore National Reading Movement‘s book charity drive in which for every 10 people who read for 15 minutes, 1 book will be donated. This year, the organizers are aiming to give 4,000 books.

In support of the National Reading Movement, Humanist SG will hold a Read for Books session on 22 July at the National Library Hanis Café from 3-5 pm.

We also invite you to read a book between 22-29 July and send a snapshot of you doing so to make a Humanists Read for Books album!

You can read for books with us at your own space through the following steps:

  1. Read a book between 22-29 July and take a photo of yourself clearly reading the book
  2. Upload your snapshot to our Facebook event wall or email it (or them if you read across multiple days) to events@humanist.org.sg by 30 July so we have time to compile.
  3. We will submit your snapshots on your behalf to NLB.
  4. We will add your snapshots to our album of Humanists Read for Books on Facebook and Flickr
