Join us for an evening with Dr John Perkins from Australia, currently on a visit to Singapore. It will be a relaxed chat over drinks.
Dr Perkins has spent many years promoting humanism, atheism and rationaism in Down Under. It was mainly the events of September 11, 2001, that led him undertake research into comparative religions, their history, derivation, philosophy and their effects on society. He was a speaker at the Global Atheist Convention in Melbourne in March 2010.
Today, he is a member of the Humanist Society of Victoria, the Rationalist Society of Australia, the Australian Skeptics and the Atheist Foundation of Australia. He is also the founding President of the Secular Party of Australia.
Dr Perkins is also an economist, mathematical modeller, software developer part-time inventor and author. His pastimes include composing humanist songs, atheist songs, singing in the Atheist Choir running with the Lakeside Hash House Harriers (the drinking club with the running problem) and the Melbourne New Moon HHH.
